About this design
- The idea
- A small crown meeting a setting sun gives Westbound a restrained 1970s nod while keeping the clothing-brand mark easy to read.
- Layout
- Pair the Westbound wordmark with a minimal crown whose base meets a simple half-sun shape. Keep the sun as a separate, solid form rather than adding rays or fine detail, for a compact retro-inspired icon.
- Lettering
- Use a clean, medium-weight sans serif with gently rounded forms, such as Avenir or a similar modern geometric face, to balance the vintage symbol with a minimal wordmark.
- Color
- Make black the dominant color for the wordmark and icon. Use gold for a small setting-sun disk behind the crown, with off-white reserved for clear negative space and the background.
