About this design
- The idea
- A loaf-like shape tucked into the D’s counter gives Dawn Bakery a quiet bakery cue without competing with the name.
- Layout
- Create a compact, slab-serif D whose inner counter forms a simple rounded wedge reminiscent of a loaf viewed from the side. Set the smaller “Dawn Bakery” beneath in a centered line; keep the D’s outer form clean and strong enough to work alone.
- Lettering
- Use a custom slab-serif capital D with a deliberately shaped inner counter, and a small, straightforward sans serif for “Dawn Bakery.”
- Color
- Let pastel pink (#F7C8D0) fill a broad, geometric D. Use butter yellow (#FCE7B2) as a small solid inset and mint (#BFE3D0) for the smaller name lettering beneath, with clear separation between all shapes.
